Miss Scotland named Miss UK; heads to Miss International 2011
DELIGHTED Miss Scotland Nicola Mimnagh yesterday celebrated being the best of British – as she was officially crowned Miss UK.
The gorgeous brunette earned the coveted title after finishing ahead of the other home nations girls at the recent Miss World contest in China. To mark the honour, the 24-year-old beauty queen, of Kilbarchan, Renfrewshire, posed in a tiny Saltire bikini under a giant Union Jack. Nicola said: “I’m delighted to fly the flag for Britain – but this skimpy Saltire bikini shows the sexiest side of me will always be Scottish.”

Nicola – who was in the top 25 at Miss World last month – follows a proud tradition of seven other Miss Scotlands to win the UK title. And Miss World organiser Steven Morley reckons that’s all down to The Scottish Sun’s hunt to unearth stunners year after year.
He said: “Miss Scotland always does well because The Scottish Sun finds the best girls in the land. Nicola is so bubbly and will make a great Miss UK.”
Nicola – who was crowned Miss Scotland in June – can expect lucrative modelling deals and is attracting interest from top jewellers Cartier. But good causes are also close to her heart and she attended a lunch for kids’ charity CHAS yesterday. Caring Nicola said: “It’s a responsibility I take very seriously.”
