Scotland crowns representative for Miss World 2009

Katharine Brown, a stunning 22 year-old from Dunblane, Stirlingshire, was crowned Miss Scotland 2009 during an event held on 14th May 2009.

Photo: Stephanie Willemse, 20, of Glasgow,saw her reign as Miss Scotland 2008 come to an end.

A new beauty queen of Scotland will represent her country at the Miss World 2009 pageant.

Miss World 2009, the 59th Miss World beauty pageant will be held in Johannesburg, South Africa, where Ksenia Sukhinova of Russia will crown her successor, Miss World 2008. About 120 contestants are expected to attend the event.




Crownd favourite, 19 year-old Jamey Bowers of Edinburgh was judged first runner-up. While Diane Mathieson, 19 year-old of Saltcoats, Ayrshire was secound runner-up.

Katharine beat other finalists to take out the title Miss Scotland 2009.
