Sophie Moulds, a 19 year-old university student from Ferndale, was crowned Miss Wales 2012 in Cardiff, on April 14, 2012. She will represent Wales in Miss World 2012, in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China, on August 18.

BIOGRAPHY
As a student, Sara hopes to achieve a career as a psychologist and help those less fortunate than her. She speaks fluent Welsh and enjoys long distance running. She describes herself as caring, ambitious and motivated.
INTERVIEW
Tell us a little something about your Country ?
I live in Portalbot which boasts mountains and beaches and is home to lots of wonderful people. Wales is the land of song, rugby and history.
Future ambitions ?
To be successful in whatever I do but I hope to become a counsellor.
Describe yourself
I am motivated, ambitious, determined and caring. My family and friends are the most important part of my life. I feel that knowledge is success.
Personal Motto?
To be the best I can be and to reach for the stars.
Favourite food ?
Fries and eggs. Also, chocolate and cream.
Favourite Music / Books ?
I enjoy listening to rock music and reading history books.
Do you have any pets?
Yes, I have two dogs.
What is the proudest moment of your life or most memorable day?
My proudest moment was passing my AS-levels at college and sitting my A-levels. My education is important to me, so achieving good grades makes me proud.
Special Talents ?
I am a fluent Welsh speaker and consider this a talent. I am talented at reciting poetry and long distance running.
Any other interesting facts ?
I love volunteering for my local charity and animal charities. I hope to become a psychologist or a counsellor helping the less fortunate.
Miss Wales (Welsh: Fetha Cymru) is an annual beauty pageant held in Wales, United Kingdom to select a representative to go through to the Miss World contest.

Miss Wales 2011 will held at St David's Hall in Cardiff on Saturday 2 July 2011. The current Miss Wales 2010, Courtenay Hamilton (photo above) will crown her successor at the end of the event.
The winner will represent Wales at Miss World 2011 beauty pageant.
