Miss World Australia 2009 Beauty Pageant Contest will be held on July 22. Katie Richardson, Miss World Australia 2008 will crown her successor during the event. The newly crowned winner will represent Australia at the Miss World 2009 Beauty Pageant Contest.
Miss World 2009, the 59th Miss World beauty pageant will be held in Johannesburg, South Africa, where Ksenia Sukhinova of Russia will crown her successor, Miss World 2008. About 120 contestants are expected to attend the event.
Young women from towns and cities across Australia aged 18 - 24 years have been asked to compete for the coveted title 'Miss World Australia'. Winners from around Australia will travel to Sydney for the National Finals culminating in the Crowning Gala Dinner & Show in Star City's Grand Harbour Ballroom on Wednesday 22 July.
