According to The Miami Herald, officials were scheduled to have a talk Tuesday afternoon about hosting the Miss USA 2012 pageant in Miami Beach. They will discuss the costs and benefits of bringing the pageant to the city.

ACT Productions and the Green modeling agency have been negotiating with pageant representatives to move the contest from Las Vegas to Miami Beach, Max Sklar, of the Miami Beach Tourism and Cultural Development Department, told the Herald.

But pageant representatives may be asking the city to pay up to $1 million to host the event, the Herald reported. They originally asked for $3 million.

While a Miss Universe representative said that the talks were only preliminary, members of ACT stressed the importance of the event for Miami Beach tourism. The last time Miami Beach hosted the pageant was in the 1960s.

Miss Globe International® is a conventional Beauty Pageant Organization in which the participants are from different nations and cultures, between 17 and 25. The Pageant is organized regularly every year. Girls who would like to become contestants are to submit an application to their National Miss Globe Organization. If there isn’t any national Miss globe Organization in their countries the applications can be submitted thorough filling out the forms on our global website. In case of being under 17, the candidates are asked to bring a signed permission documents signed by their legal parents. National Miss Globe Final applications start from the beginning of January and continue till the start of the pageant. The International Final applications continue till August. The International Final is open to the public and broadcasted by the national TV channels. International Final is hold between September and December. Miss Swaziland 2012

ZULWINI, Swaziland - Ayanda Dube (23, Luyengo) was crowned Miss Swaziland 2012 at the Woodlands Hall in Ezulwini during a contest that saw 13 girls competing for the title. Nosipho Mkhwanazi and Telamsile Zubuko finished second and third, respectively. The winner is expected to represent Swaziland in Miss World 2012 in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China, on July 4.

Miss Universe Rio Grande do Sul 2011

The new Miss Universe Rio Grande do Sul is Gabriela Markus, from the city of Teutônia. Miss Pelotas, Athena Cunha, was the 1st runner-up, and Miss Santa Maria, Vitória Machado Bisognin, was the 2nd runner-up.

Markus, who is 23 and 1.80 m-tall, had participated in Miss Universe Rio Grande do Sul 2010 and placed 2nd.

She will compete in Miss Universe Brazil 2012.

Lidia Avomo was elected Miss Equatorial Guinea 2011

Lidia Avomo was recently elected Miss Equatorial Guinea, and Judith Nfono Ngoma, the pageant’s organizer, said that she is already carrying out the appropriate processes to try to get Avomo to participate in the next Miss Universe competition. “The choice of a beauty queen from Angola has been an inspiration,” she says.

When asked if the African country could participate in the upcoming Miss Universe competition, Judith recalled that Equatorial Guinea has not yet been in the election of Miss Universe. But, after mentioning that the last Miss Universe is an African, specifically, the Angolan Leila da Costa Vieira Lopes, Judith believes that her victory has been an inspiration. Therefore, the director of the international beauty contest has not hesitated and has sent the request to participate so that Equatorial Guinea can compete in the next Miss Universe competition.

Equatorial Guinea participated in a Grand Slam pageant for the first time in 2011: Miss Supranational.

Alicia Sylvera was crowned Miss Nationale 2012 or Miss Earth France 2012 at the pageant held at Pau Brasil in Paris on December 18, 2011. She will represent France at the Miss Earth 2012 pageant to be held in Vietnam on November, after winning the crown over 39 other contestants.

Christelle Roca, Miss Cerdagne-Roussillon, was crowned Miss Prestige National 2012 during a ceremony in Divonne-les-Bains on December 5, 2011. Christelle Roca is 20 year old and stands 1m77 and is a professional flamenco dancer. She will represent France at the Miss International 2012 beauty pageant on November.
